I have been etching pictures onto granite monuments since 1990, and have done over a thousand of them, but not so much anymore. They can be found in cemeteries all over New England and New York. Polished stones are notoriously difficult to photograph, so these pictures represent somewhat of a random sampling.
Most of these were done with your basic Dremel engraver, with a diamond tip. No, I never did any with captions underneath them. Nobody ever asked.
